Almost exact same scenario happened to me. I started a site and had just learned about Adsense and told my sister about the program (DID NOT ask her or insinuate that she 'go to work'). Not having the ads on but for a couple days, I started getting excited to see a few dollars a day in revenues and again called her back with my exciting news. Her response was something to the effect of, "Well, you should be making some money. I've been clicking my ass off!" AAAAAAAArrrrrrrrrggggghhhhhh!

Yes, I let her know to stop what she was doing immediately! I was banned the following day.

Realizing the obvious reason why, I emailed Google with the whole story in detailed depth and was forgiven! Our account was reactivated two days later and is current today.

Moral: If your mistakes are honest on your part, or ignorance on the part of someone close to you. You have to humble yourself, take the time to write a detailed and profuse apology, swallow your pride and let Google know. If you've been banned, then you are now at the point where you have "nothing to lose."

    Best Regards,

    Jennifer

Not sure if your experience was the same as the OP, as this guy has been asking people to click on his ads for a while now before he was banned. Purposely. He's admitted that he "needed the money" so he decided to cheat. Yours was an honest mistake. His was voluntary fraud.

Yes, looking more into this lengthy post I did see where he finally came clean. However, there was some question as to whether Google would find it in thier good graces to forgive "honest" mistakes once banned. I saw that there was some sentiment that 'once banned, forget it, you're doomed.' I'm hoping to at least shed some hope on those who's 'rodents might accidentally be clicking on ads while browsing the net looking for the closest cheese shop' (???)

For those who have made truly honest mistakes, I can attest that there is hope if you come clean and tell a legitimate story.

    Best Regards,

hey people,i just mean that once u r banned, chances r very little for u to get back in(in the same name).i think the only way left is to get back in another name(ur friends,brother,...with another adress).
i cant belive what IndieRetailer is saying, coz does google has time to review our appology and to reconsider our account.they hav a lot of other things to manage.they hav nothing to loose if one account is banned

this are just my concepts, may be true may be not
ny way as these guys say be optimist and write a letter to google.
after all u dont hav anything to loose

Tweety, what would be my motivation for lying? I have no vested interest in whether someone writes Google an email or not. I'm sharing my experience with good intentions.

Doubt my story or not, somebody from Google actually emailed a 'personal' response. Not a canned response, some person actually tapped keys and clicked 'send'. Perhaps Google has enough revenue to staff a 'review and appeal' division to audit case by case scenarios. Whatever the case, I'm certainly not going to go out of my way to make stories up for something that doesn't benefit me in any way.

Not only was my account reinstated, and original account name kept intact, but the 'fraudulent' revenue generated during that period remained in my account after being told that it would be removed! Believe it....... OR not! (Ripley's)

Don't worry. I'm not so much offended by your comment as I am struck by it's bizarre connotation.

Tweety, The suggestion you are giving is useless, once your account is banned try opening another one on any of your relative's name, that will get banned again. So no use.

I know many people reinstated by Google after getting banned, so I see no point to not to believe IndieRetailer.

The rule of thumb with adsense - "Be Honest".
