How to get a twitter account that someone else is using?

I have found a twittter account that I am really interested in.

It's this one: http://twitter.com/hiof

The reason I want it is because I work at a college in Norway and we want to start using Twitter, we use hiof for short... the problem is that it's already taken, but the guy who "owns" it is not using it.

My question is this, how can I get a hold of this account. It doesn't seem to be possible to contact him via Twitter (I'll try it, just in case). And there are no other contact information.

I really appreciate any suggestions.

Try Googling "hiof." Usually, you'll find their website, Facebook or something, and there'll be a way to contact them.

 

Contact them and make them some sort of deal. They'll likely not give it up for free, if they even let go of it at all.

 

Pretty difficult.... Twitter wont just hand it over, it has to be in direct violation of copyright. Try contacting them directly.

It's virtually impossible. You can't message them unless they are following you.

 

I have contacted Twitter several times, but so far I haven't received any answer. But you're probably right

Add him to your twitter follower and give him a retweet regarding this.

I could do this, but it looks like he's not using his account. He is following 1 person and has 3 followers. And his account was created 7 May 2009.

I think this question has been properly answered. Just do everything that you can to get in contact with him.

 

try reporting the guy for SPAM . If that doesnt work , get more buddies to report him for SPAM , then it might work. Other wise why not make a name "_hiof" or "hiof1"

 

find his mail & website from his profile, from which start to have conversation with him.

 

@Rob Cook - that's the problem, he doesn't have any contact information on his profile.

@lebedev9114 - I don't think I should report him for spamming, but the _hiof or hiof1 is not a bad idea

 

so i would suggest you to take the same ID which Include with any symbol or with any added sign. which will match to your requirement.

 

Send direct massage and try to ask trade or buy with good deal for him/her. Fight to get that account.
