    Hello,

I am posting this on behalf of my relative who is a B.TECH graduate (Computer science stream and will apss out in 2010 April).

He is very much interested in getting a job in the marketing/ business sector. Any tips? I do not hope to find HR managers here, still all suggestions are welcome.

He has been in the internet marketing field for about 3 years now. I would say other than that he has no marketing experience (Direct marketing). He has good knowledge about SEO, Blogging, Social Media and so on.

What do you suggest he do now? He told me that his MAT (Management Aptitude Test) results are out and he got 96.14 percentile (That many people are below him) and he could get into some pretty good B schools (Not the IIM's though but some colleges like Christ College Bangalore, SRM university etc). I could suggest him to do MBA now (without work experience) or work for a few years and then do MBA (in which case I think I might need to advice him on how to land a marketing job).

    Any suggestions?

    PMed you the college name.

Do you all think it is difficult to get into the marketing stream after going the engineering route? If you were to employ him, what qualities would you look for to give him a job? Is the absence of direct marketing experience a huge disadvantage when it comes to jobs?

If he has knowledge of that particular field then post resume on job portals or find companies and send resume . If they have any vacancy. They will contact to you.
