How to get a low CPC on Google ad words

Discussion in 'Google AdWords' started by navjeevan85, Dec 28, 2010.

    Hi
There are a lot of keywords which have a high CPC. For example health industry is huge and the competition is really tough. Because of that the CPC is high too.

But how do we get a low CPC for a competitive market. Do i need to use long tail keywords?

    Please Advice.
    Thanks

You can reduce your costs by improving your Quality Score.

Obviously, researching your keywords properly is important too.

However, keep in mind that often certain keywords are more expensive because they bring higher returns.

You can also try advertising on the Content network instead of adwords Search network. You can get lower CPC there although the traffic isn't very targeted.

Writing better ads will increase your click-thru-rate which increases quality score. Having a more relevant landing page can also increase your quality score. Higher quality scores mean you pay less and get better ad rank.

The only other thing really that you can do is to do extensive keyword research and try to find keyword phrases that are relevant, convert, and are not yet competitive.

use long tails and find related keywords.
You don't have to target the keyword exactly, looking for other cheaper keyword that relate to it.

also there is a thing called economy of scale. you can't compete in certain markets unless you can afford entry cost. if the keywords are out of your budget, then maybe you should look for a different market or exploit a smaller niche of that market.

use the adwords keyword tool to find low-cpc keywords within a niche.
then target your landing page and ad toward that keyword.
make really tight ad groups and you'll get high quality scores, which will lower your cpcs.

You can get a lower CPC by having a good quality score and also if you've been running your campaign for awhile and are getting a good CTR they will also lower your CPC by also raising your quality score.

Yes you can but with google adwords the only remedy to lowering your CPC is by lowering your quality score and you do that by working on many factors among them relevancy of your ads to the search string i.e tight targeting, how your landing pages look i.e improving user experience etc
