How do you get a list of pages in google listed under the main site? Are there special SEO techniques that are required for that.

eg. when you search for microsoft in Google you get microsoft.com and all the main pages indexed.

can anyone explain how this works?

    let me rephrase the question.

What do you have to do in terms of SEO technique in order to get results showing like so (please follow the link below)

    http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=microsoft&btnG=Search

not for the purpose of analysis, but for the purpose of appearing for search results

    hope it makes sense

That will list pages with the word Microsoft, if you look at results 91 - 100 you will see other sites listed such a Digg.

I really don't understand what results you're after but just try googling your URL without the "http://www." and the ".com" for example for the storage site in your sig just google kqzyfj.

are you referring to the site links....the extra links under microsoft's result?

It is completely automated. there is nothing you can do to change it. I think you get it when you are an authority site.

yeah thats what I was talking about.

Its just that I know one blogger named Yaro Starak, he got his blog to show up in google like that when you search for Yaro

I thought that there might be a technique behind it

This depends upon the number of traffic a website in getting on its inner pages.

As you have taken Microsft's example: If we check the other pages which are listed below then they are download center, help and support page, windows and media player webpages.

And if we think about this then these are the pages where we would mainly like to go in when we search for Microsoft's Website. :)

This is mainly given to website which have got very very high traffic and under that the pages that ususally consume this traffic are taken into consideration.

Through this way Google is trying to make search results more simple for its users and also trying to predict the results or reasons, as to why a visitor has typed in that keyword. There is a certain name given by Google for this which I am forgetting right now... :( Will let you know as soon as I remember it...

Another example for the same is "Overture" & "Adobe"-> type in and check it out yourself.. :D This is now being used majorly by Google for big websites who get huge traffic on their websites.

By the way I am not too sure Authority sites thing... hence cant say anything about it... :)
