Hello all, I have my eyes on a domain name I really need for my bussines. Currently this domain name is in hand of a domain broker. Well the guy has 800+ domains according to whois. Now the domain is going to expire in february. Now I think there is a chance he might not renew. Because the web page on the domain hasn't been available for over 1 year. So what would you do in this situation? place a backorder or something? just wais and see if it gets renewed? and if not isn't there a risk somebody else has a backorder on it?? any advice is welcome thanks
Depends how much you want it and how much it is worth to you - because not making an offer is a risk. Are you a good poker player? I got offered the .com version of a domain I already had the .net .org .info & .co.uk versions of. The guy wanted $99 even though it was really worthless to anybody except me - so I ignored him. 2 months later I bought it through my registrar for the regular price of just $8.50 I got notified it had become available without a premium by http://www.cheapdomainnames.co.uk - so it might be worth letting them know of your existence (maybe they will check that you have .net .org .info or some other version of the domain)?
You can make an offer if you think this guy will renew the domain, Otherwise backorder it in case someone who are looking for the same domain, Just spend a few dollars to buy a chance.
Domain name worth as much as someone ready to pay for that. If you are ready to pay for that domain name that amount of money - do that now.
it depends on the domain name. if it is good keyword it may be auctioned by registrars when expired and old owner not renewed or it may backorded by others if the name is good. so u can wait a week to see if it expired or not and u may look that registrar if they sell
Agree, backorder on few snap service like pool, snapnames, namejet .etc It must be depands which registrar...
You should either backorder using Registrars like Godaddy,Name,Pool,Snapnames,Namejet or contact domain owner using Who.is and buy from him. Good Luck.
