How to get a better page rank on my rating site???

I did not get page ranked at the last spot, so its PR-0 right now.

Can anyone tell me a couple things I could do to improve my page rank.

Buying links on high PR sites can definitely help as long as they are passing PR. There are quality directories out there that probably pass PR as they are human-edited like alivedirectory, botw.org, dmoz (hard to get into), yahoo ($299), aviva, blueurl. That's all I can think of off-hand. You can also try text-link-ads.

Looks like you had a PR 1 until the recent toolbar update. With the backlinks you have, you should have a pretty good PR so, if those are new then you should see something next update otherwise you may have some penalty.

You have to have good number of backlinks . Go for following plan
a) Submit your site to relavent sites , that way can get good number of free links.
b) Exchane the links with similar sites ( prefer sites having PR) .Some sites are willing to exchange even if ur PR is 0
c) If ur budget allow you , purchase back links from high rated PR pages.

 

Build reciporcal and one way both kind of links for your site. 100 good links can give me pr 4. So start building !!!

sorry yahoo dir dont give u backlink they made nofallow, but dmoz is very good.Dmoz takes huge time to approve links.

 

I've heard people say this before but I'm checking it now and I don't see any nofollow links, not even in the adult category.

Not thought about buying links before, how much do you think they are worth? Eg, how much is a link from a PR 5 compared to a PR9?

 

They are worthed as you get a backlink and they pass on the PR so you get a descent Pr if you have links on good PR sites . though one should avoid the linkfarms , they can get you penalized . PR5 will be cheaper than PR9..lol .

 

No. I said that I checked the yahoo directory and they aren't using nofollow links. Anyways, Google doesn't show all the backlinks.

 

ive been told you can raise PR by purchasing your domain for the next 5 or 10 years, meaning its going to be around longer

 

The age of the domain will only affect whether you are in the sandbox or not. You need backlinks to get PR.
