How to generate traffic and clicks to my portal ?

    Hi everybody ,
    I have portal page which have a searching engine with much keywords in it , I want to generate traffic and clicks to it to can earn more money ? Does anybody know how to do it ? thanks !
    the portal is http://www.askwhat.net . I want to make more portals to can earn more money :)

    first start with searchenigineoptimiation and web2.0 promotion.
    try liknwheels, i mean backlinking from high PR possibilities out there like blogger, blogsome, squezze ....
    try articleposting to article directories

    buy ppc via adwords, yahoo, msn, bidvertiser, clicksor, adbrite....

    It is easyest way to buy PPC traffic but is that will give my money back ?
    I need only USA and Canada traffic cause for now only from theese country they pay :) What is backlink I read some thread ... Is that to post my link at forums , blogs etc.?
