how can we generate revenue through google adsense, i have never used it before can you please guide me through in this respect.
That is simple you should have site with a lot of traffic and revenue will come along. I have a site that doesn't make much money but once when I add more content and build more traffic it will do. (I hope) http://guidetocroatia.blogspot.com http://www.croatia-vacations.com
The basics: get a website/blog/etc, fill it with content apply to the Adsense program once you're accepted, read the program policies (rules) log into Adsense, find and customize an ad layout that suits your site Adsense generates code, add this code to your website done! Once you've done all that, you can start worrying about creating channels, ad placement, etc, but it's best to start basic and once you've got your head wrapped around everything, expand from there. And of course, if and when you hit bumps along the way, there are plenty of helpful people on the forums who can probably help you out Good luck!
Read nearly this entire forum the titles of each thread will guide you in what you need to know. From where you have posted this message I see you have not even read down to the main posts. As I tell anyone who wants to be hand held through the process it will never happen you need to investigate and learn for yourself. OR to put it bluntly and more to the point RTFM!!
And please please read the TOS carefully. Do not go asking anyone to "click your ads" or other tactics that are against the TOS. If you do eventually someone will find out and you will get yourself banned. So know the program policies and if you are unsure about something ask us here and we will be glad to let you know the answer. Just do things smart.
You can get all what you need to know about Adsense from here. Just create a blog using www.blogger.com
Is original content king because of SEO? Or just for the revisiting of users, and thus increasing overall traffic?
Well, just my personal opinion, but: Sure, SEO is a reason. A good ranking means more visitors. Apparently, google doesn't like duplicate content. But yea...a major reason is returning visitors. Who wants to re-read articles they've seen many times before? If a site offers lots of content but nothing original then no reason to return... The sites I visit most are: digitalpoint (for the fora), and another site for its fora and other user-submitted "stories" and "galleries". Plus the site owner submits many great "stories" and "galleries" of his own too. This is just my opinion though, as I like to develop sites people find useful and will return to.
First to respond to BWDOW: Not really. 'SEO' isn't going to generate your initial traffic. You need to get your site out there first. I'm one of those people who thinks 'SEO' is a bunch of fluff. As long as you have well structured pages, the rest will follow. Googebot isn't stupid. If you're using standards the way they're suppose to be used, you're better off than most. It's not like there is some secret language that only SEO 'experts' speak. There are two methods really. You can either find something you're passionate about and develop a site based on that where you are creating original and interesting content. It just depends on what You would like to do. .r:. Buy Domain. Put up CMS or site. Buy some content. Grab some backlinks. Wash. Rinse and Repeat. The rest is really up to you. Quantity or Quality? I'm a fan of Quality myself, but I know a few people who do quite well with the Quantity model.
Greg-J's absolutely right. The site I'm currently working on (and always will) is a subject I'm passionate about, fills a gap in its niche, provides useful content and tools. Takes all my time, but it's worth it. No, I don't make money from it (yet) and not concerned about doing so until I feel it's "fully developed". All my current visitors are people on another forum (who share this common interest with me) and they use it every day constantly so to me that's a big motivator to continue, even if it's just 30 people. Importantly, I deliver features my visitors want. No "promotion" of it yet and maybe never... I prefer "natural" linking and visitors. I coded my site from scratch but recommend drupal as custom php can be put in pages without a problem and it's an easy to administer CMS.
Adding to Greg-J, Very true that SEO isnt so important, but its true for content based websites, blog. Seo is for company/product/service based sites who hardly have any fresh content. and yeah, best of luck for your new site Ryan
Thank you, mate ... sometimes I'm sat staring at the code and my head wants to explode. So it's times like that when I put in an A-Team DVD for relaxation and inspiration. "I love it when a plan comes together."
Huh? Original content makes your site interesting, unique, and it passes duplicate-content filters. Original content doesn't necessarily mean creating content totally from scratch. You can research a topic from multiple sources, consolidate the information, and write it up in your own words. You may be able to present the information in a unique way, or make it easier to understand, or offer a different viewpoint.
If you write useful information (like a how-to guide) then you'll get plenty of visitors anyway. So many people try to use copy-n-paste material, which just doesn't work. Your own original material that has value, rather than adsense value will do you well.
suggestions: provide some free services/downloads, ppl like freebies and they will come to your site (of course you need to promo your site, let it be known). then u need to do some optimization on your site for adsense to get better adsense revenue -http://www.seoearnings.com/se/adsense
