I am an insurance agent and I will have a Norvax quote site up toward the end of the week. How can I generate traffic from people in TX looking for health insurance quotes without using PPC (Tried it once and my lead cost was very high)?
I'd focus on doing some SEO on your site for some long tail keywords that include Texas Health Insurance and variations on that. It looks like there's only about 800 sites with "Texas Health Insurance" all in title..so with some work, you should be able to rank high for those phrases. I don't know how the Norvax sites work, so maybe you don't have control over that. You could also see if there are some local Texas online directories where you can list your site..maybe even a yellow pages type of site since you're looking for a more specific local traffic. Just throwing ideas out there.
If your Norvax site doesn't allow for much SEO, you may want to add a "blog" to the site or a separate site. Use the "blog" to rank in the search engines for free and gather your leads that way. just point the blog traffic to your quote site or put a lead capture on it. Also, there are other ad networks out there that may be cheaper for you.
HI Josh, I'll follow the above advice about using a blog, which you need to SEO for Texas traffic. Then follow up with articles, also using the same key words that you SEO the blog with. Lastly, you should find locally targeted websites that will run CPM banners. This step takes a while to come thru because you'll have to test your ad copy, but if you've written articles, coming up with about 50 good text ideas for banners will not be that difficult. Success, Sam
Is there any benefit to buying several domains and linking them to the site... for instance (texas city name)healthquotes.com Having similar content, but not them same and then linking everything to the Norvax site with the quoting engine?
Having several sites can help. The more presence on the web the better. Just don't have the same content on each site. Point them all to your main site. Do some keyword research and use the best keywords in your domain names. Ex: cityhealthquotes.com lowcostcityhealthquotes.com cheapcityhealthquotes.com...etc You can also grab a blogger, HUB, Squidoo pages with your keyword(s) and use them for free to link back to your main site.
Here's another great idea. Just ask "Chumps From Oxford." He knows everything! He is the greatest. Oh...wait. I am Chumps. Just thought I'd say hi to you Josh. See you at the other forum!
