How to gain traffic on a forum?

    What are the effective methods by which we can gain traffic and viewers on a forum?

    Join related forums and makes posts about your forum and include the link to it in your signature (no spamming though). Also offer services to get people to post quality replies, or even give $0.10 per valuable reply a person makes. You can hire people to do that here at DP.

    EDIT: What's your forum's niche? If it's this kind of forum I might join. :)
