Tell me step by step how to start flipping domain names, which is the best site to do that, can I register my domain, and then sell it for some money etc.

    Thanks. :)

    1) select good names and .coms only not other crap
    2) register it for cheapest possible price to increase your profit margin
    3) use registrar that used the most for domain flipping, i.e. Godaddy
    4) sell your domains consistently (even for not so high price) without having to pay for renewal on lot of them
    hope this helps

Most people spend lots of time and money without ever earning a profit. If you're looking for a get-rich-quick scheme, I suggest additional education in the form of college or technical certifications. Domaining is hard work and more people fail than succeed. If you're sure you want to try, then take several months and research the whole industry before you waste money on domains that nobody will want to buy from you.

Not an easy business, even though many act as if it is easy. Seen way too many people invest a ton of money without any idea of what they are doing only to find they have no buers for their domains. I would suggest reading up alot on the subject and learning what makes a good domain and what sells.

    Best of luck!

I agree with kysersoze...its not that much easy job there is a heavy competition in this field, not only the domain name you should consider there are lots of things a domain should have so pls if u dont know be aware of it.

For anybody who's reading this thread...

If you have some internet-related skills already but are unfamiliar with reselling domains, then consider this as an alternative: Find a domainer who already owns some quality domains and has some experience with domain investing. Such a person has more good domains than he knows what to do with, and he could be making more money if these domains were developed into proper websites than by leaving them all parked. So if you have genuine experience with web design, affiliate programs, online marketing, seo, graphic design, custom programming, databases, or anything relevant, perhaps the thing to do is approach this domainer and offer your services.

Now you should realize that most domainers are very reluctant to spend money on development by strangers -- partially because they're afraid that they will be overcharged and receive mediocre results, and partly because they would rather spend that money on more domains or on renewal fees for the domains they're already committed to. So if you approach that domainer as a customer, he will probably say no. But you could instead offer to collaborate in developing one or more domains as a business partnership. That would involve profit sharing for you rather than a flat fee or a salary. If you both win or both lose together, then the final result will probably be much more likely to succeed because there are 2 people with 2 different sets of skills cooperating -- both with something at stake. Along the way, you will probably learn a lot about domains from the other guy. If you pick a domain with real value and he already owns it, then he may very well know something about domains. You could not only make money through a business collaboration but find a mentor who could give you some tips on the domain industry.

Personally, I'd be open to such collaboration if there are any truly experienced guys out there with skills that I lack. But I'm not the only domainer who would say yes to this. The approach is simple: (1) If you don't have real skills, get them or don't waste anybody's time; (2) Find a domain that is undeveloped but which you can imagine making a lot of money if developed into a website; (3) Contact the owner with a proposal for developing the domain together as partners; (4) Consider using a legal contract to spell out who does what and how profits will be split both with the developed site and in the event that the domain is sold.

If anybody out there follows this approach and has some success with it, drop me a letter and tell me about it.

My advice would be to do a full-on, thorough keyword research for any type of (hot) niche, and incorporate the keyword into the domain.
Though, you won't sell your domain for much at all even if you do this.

My over-viewed advice instead of the one above: Do the above PLUS build a blog & drive traffic.

Overall: Flip websites/blogs instead of domains (much more profitable).
