How to fix the number of ads you can show has been limited?

Hi, I've been seeing this message in my AdSense panel for a few weeks: 'The number of ads you can show has been limited for one or more of your AdSense products. For more information, go to the Policy Center.' For 2-3 days, I had a lot of traffic on one of my websites. The traffic came from Google, and I hadn't done anything. In fact, I hadn't posted anything in several months. Could someone please help me figure out how to fix this problem? The website that had the traffic is this one: https://fullfreesoftware.net

Check where traffic comes from in your Google Analytics or other tools. If there's a lot of suspicious traffic (e.g., bots, unknown referrers), this might be the cause.

Thank you for your response. The traffic came from organic Google searches, which is what surprised me. The traffic was of good quality since most of it came from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and India. However, I hadn't done anything to cause this, so I'm not sure what to do to address the situation. The traffic issue only lasted for about 3-4 days and has now normalized.

Ok, since there doesn’t seem to be a solution for this, do you know how long it will stay in this situation?

    Hi Kaiti
There are various reasons for this, kindly recheck your GA and dive deep into it.
Check if the same users (small group of users) click on your ad again and again. This can also cause this issue.
Check the bot traffic and spikes.
Ad placement also be an issue, check the ad placement and don't place ads with the clickable elements.

As you are saying all your traffic comes from organic search results, kindly submit an appeal to the AdSense support team and share the screenshots of your analytics (traffic sources).

    Hope this will help you.

Thank you very much for your response. As mentioned above, the traffic comes from Google since I also had high impressions, which is not something under my control. Additionally, regarding the ads, they are set up automatically via AdSense since I use Google Site Kit. Now, how can I contact AdSense support?

Login to your AdSense account, click on the Help icon and click on Contact Us.
I am not very sure if they will offer you the live chat option or not but other options can help you, if not then you can post your issue in the community forums or sometimes they offer email support.

Update us about it. Also, It might be helpful to review the Policy Center and ensure your site meets all guidelines, especially since sudden traffic spikes can sometimes trigger reviews.

Damn, that sucks. AdSense limits can be super annoying, especially when you didn't do anything shady. Since the traffic came from Google, it’s weird that they’d flag it, but maybe they think it’s bot traffic or something. I'd check Google Analytics to see if the traffic looks normal—like, are the session times decent, or is it just a bunch of hits with no engagement? Also, might be worth checking Cloudflare (if you use it) to see if bots hit your site hard. Not sure how long these limits last, but some people say it clears up in a few weeks. You could try updating the site with some fresh content just in case Google thinks it’s inactive. Have you checked the Policy Center for any specific reason they gave?

Their policy center only says suspicious traffic. The traffic according to Google Analytics is human. According to Cloudflare I had bot attacks, but they say they blocked them.

Finally, after almost a month and a half, the restriction has been lifted.

The message you're seeing in your AdSense panel typically indicates a policy violation or an issue with your site's content. To resolve it, visit the Policy Center in your AdSense account for more details on the specific violation. If your site received increased traffic from Google, it might have triggered a review or issue with your ad serving. Ensure your content complies with AdSense's policies and address any flagged issues. Once resolved, you may need to wait for AdSense to lift the restrictions. If you're unsure, contacting AdSense support for clarification and assistance can also help.

As I mentioned above, I had not violated any of Google's policies. Additionally, apart from the message in the photo, they do not refer to anything specific; they simply provide general information that confuses more than it helps in resolving the issue. Although I contacted Adsense, they did not respond with any solution to address the matter. However, thankfully, after one month, the issue was resolved.

Looks like your AdSense account hit a limit because of that sudden traffic spike after being quiet for a while. Google’s systems probably flagged it automatically, even if the traffic was legit, anything that looks out of the ordinary can get treated like invalid activity. First thing, head over to the AdSense Policy Center to see what exactly triggered it. Then, take a good look at your traffic in Google Analytics, check if anything seems off. It’s also a smart move to lock things down with something like Cloudflare to keep the bots out.
Also, double-check your ad placements, make sure they’re not set up in a way that might get people clicking by accident. Once you've cleaned things up and you're sure everything's cool, you can send in an appeal explaining what happened and what you’ve fixed. Most of the time, if your site stays in line with their rules, they lift the limit in about 30 days. Hang in there!
