Hello friends, I have flair for writing but i am unable to decide the topics. From where can i find about the hot topics particularly of a specific niche? Any idea? Thanks Shailendra
Rewriting articles from ezinearticles without the copyright holder's permission is copyright infringement (only the copyright holder has the right to create, or authorize someone else to create, a derivative work). To the OP, it would help if you gave us the specific general niche you're looking for, so we could give you relevant article types. In a general sense though, here are options to keep the ideas flowing: 1. Review something in the niche (a product, service, company, or site). 2. Interview someone in the niche who has more authority than you do in some aspect of the niche. 3. Do some keyword research using the Adwords sandbox to see what related phrases people are searching for (a good way to help you come up with article titles). 4. Contact companies in the niche, and see if you can reach their PR people - ask to get on their media list (then they'll send you their press releases when they go out, so you'll have fresh news).
Subscribe to RSS feeds on blogs and news websites related to your topic of interest and go from there, for instance expanding a theme that was just mentioned or briefly summarized in one of those articles. Brainstorm. Do some keyword research. Go to wikipedia and see what topics relate to it.
Try forums in the areas you are interested in. Look for the active threads and that might give you some ideas about what people are talking about. Pay particular attention to the information request threads - those can lead to real traffic-generating articles. Also try Google Trends. It shows what the most active search terms are for a given day. DogPile has a spy-type tool where you can see each search as it happens. These two cover everything but it definitely shows what people are looking for.
You stole my suggestion Also, Twitter has some frequent topics that are tweeted about. You can see them on the right hand side of the Twitter home page. You can also write opposing viewpoints of blog posts by bloggers in your niche or supporting and expanding posts.
What are you writing for? For your own sites? For clients? In most cases your clients can give you all the direction you need.
I like those suggestions. Well spoken. ------------------------------------ When I'am looking for stuff to write about, I will take "something" - this can be anything from a current event to an object - and write an article on my "first" impressions. When you see something, or when you eat, drink, watch a movie, see a bird - anything - most people will have a "first impression." But a lot of times we will ignore that impression. But that "impression" can be a powerful force when writing an article. Take your very first thoughts, then break them into paragraphs. All you need is three topics to write a college level essay. And there you go. Lets take the topic of a cheeseburger and your favorite burger joint. Walk in there, order a burger, fries and a coke. Sit down, take a bite - and think about what are your "first thoughts" or what is your "first impressions" are. Is the burger juicy, too hot, cold, too thick, too thin, too much mayo, too much mustard, maybe not enough mayo or mustard,,, the list goes on and on. From there, lets say the burger patty was too thick. Ok, what was it about the patty being too thick that you did not like? Once you start getting into the "details" you should never lose stuff to write about. This goes back to jhmatterns suggestion on reviewing or interviewing. With both of those, your getting into the "details." And the details is what a good article is all about.
I found out about great topics to write about by first being a writer for hire for two years. More or less, clients requested for similar profitable topics so I more or less got an idea of what is hot on the net. I then used these ideas with tools like http://spyfu.com and http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/.
easy...have a look at popular social networks...see what gets dugg and stumbled...read popular forums...visit authoritative blogs...browse social bookmarking sites...
you can find easily on google.com/trends yahoo buzz or other popular sites...find whats popular peoples are talking about
Just watching the news can be very useful. Or, if you have more specific interests, you could watch new episodes of TV shows about gadgets (if you're into gadgets) or racing (if you're into racing) etc. Or you can make a small list of things you're most interested in and use that list as your keywords for Google news alerts.
I write about what I know. Fortunately there are 4-5 topics I know very well. Then I pick topics which I do not really know, but which are near or related to the first 5 topics. By talking about you know you have an edge, otherwise this is not as relevant as it could be. relevancy is key.
Write about subjects you know about or which interest you which are currently popular, or growing in popularity.
