How to Find the Real Hosting Company Behind the Reseller Account

    Hi, let say you sign up a web hosting package from a reseller account.. Is there anyway for us to find out who's the real hosting company?

    Yes, sometimes it can be determined through name servers (if not pvt) or through network tracing/network whois, etc.

    Asking your provider is the easiest way. :p Also another best way is looking your domain or IP's whois results. :)

    Well depends on how good the real web hosting company is

    The first thing I'd check is the hostname of the server. If it's domain is different then check the whois.sc to see who owns it.

    Check rDNS records of your IP and also various ones around you see if it gives any clues

    Could ask?

    hostname of the server can give you an fair idea and another way which might work for some is SSL information if rerseller has not got a dedicated IP for some reason.
