You may have heard someone tell you to do what you have a passion for and the money will always follow. However, I would reverse that and say to you to “follow the money,” instead and you will have what you really love – financial freedom.

To enjoy such financial freedom, you need to follow what people are actually searching for and that is where you will find the money. A profitable market is one that is targeted to a specific niche.

There are many newbies who think that finding a market that is untapped is the way to success, but I beg to differ. Even gurus will have the nerve to tell you that. Well, don’t be fooled by untapped markets because they may have a lot of searches, but no money. In addition, these kinds of market are harder to find. It will be like searching for a needle in a haystack.

The way that you profit from a niche market is to have competition, which literally means that there are a lot of people buying and there is a high demand. You will always have room in such a market to claim your cash because you already know that people are waiting to buy and there is always enough to go around.

The question now is what makes a niche market profitable for you?
Find a niche that solves people’s problems. People are always looking for ways to save money, lose weight, improve their lives and make money. These may fall in categories such as making money from home with a home based business, relationships, or health issues.

    The most obvious ones are:
    1. Getting an ex back
    2. Curing Insomnia
    3. Lose Belly Fat
    4. Saving your marriage
    5. Building Muscles
    6. Managing Stress

These are a few examples of topics that will allow you to engage in affiliate marketing. There are products already written to cover these topics so you don’t have to create products, but instead market someone else’s product. Most product owners provide marketing materials to help you with your promotions such as email copy, sample articles that you can rewrite, banners, ebook graphics, ad copy, keywords and other valuable resources.

Clickbank and Paydotcom are the two most popular places that you can begin your search. In Clickbank alone, there are over 11,000 products that you can promote and most of them pay commissions between 50% to 75% for each sale you make.

The fact is proven that you really don’t need to have a passion for a particular market. You have to develop a passion in finding out how you can provide a solution for what people are looking for. However, before you offer the solution, you must take an interest in that solution so you can provide unbiased and knowledgeable reviews, articles and suggestions to the prospect.

Don’t waste your time on brainstorming or looking for trends. If you go to Google.com and do a search for make money, there are almost 100 million listings, which speak volume. The same can be said about losing weight. A search for that keyword phrase produced almost 7 million listings. The competition may seem fierce and you may be wondering how you can get a piece of the pie. Well, people search using different phrases, so the key is to find the phrase that is not as competitive. For example, “”lose weight with atkins diet”,” produced 955,000 without quotes and 36 competing organic listings with quotes. Do you see the vast difference and how you can capitalize on that difference?

Using the strategy of finding keyword phrases that are much more defined is the answer to creating a profitable online business.

    Let’s recap:
Most people are searching for ways to make money, save money and improve their lives. If you start with this premise to find a solution to their problems, you will be able to find a profitable niche and be successful with your online marketing prospect.

Agree with some of these points, but our vision should be broader.

I say it's important to spend time finding trends on the net. Look out for something you see a lot of and try to duplicate it. Yes having an original idea/campaign is great but certainly keep your eyes open for what other people are doing!

The best niche is something that interests and inspires you, otherwise you will get bored and bail out. Follow your passion and you greatly increase your chance of success.

Oh yes - I believe that one is able to develop a passion to almost anything.
Well, of course, there are some things that a person will not be able to be passionate about: we all are different, aren't we?
Still, considering a great monetary incentive, a great deal of passion can be developed, as I said, for almost anything.
And when the passion and money go hand-in-hand, it is, well... a lethal situation akkkhhhhh!!!

    Great advice there.
Actually, the whole post is very good.

Targeting specific niches away from the herd and lemmings is the only way to make a consistent income in many online niche sales.
If everybody is selling "Widgets", then figure out how many like Mobile, Alabama Pale Green Widgets, and become the leader in that niche.
(Read that sentence carefully for specific keys)

Creating a site about your passion will beat out these "profitable markets" any day.

Passion leads to great content, enthusiasm, and an identity that visitors can relate to.

Finding long tail keyword X and putting up some PLR articles may give you some $$$, but it's no way to create a business.

No, I believe this is true.

What he meant is that you've got to find a market where there's a demand for it, so don't fear competition. See it as a good thing because people are making money from it. You just have to create your unique selling point. What is your angle in selling that the other person hasn't covered.

If you don't think this is possible, then take a look at Hollywood. How many Superman and Batman movies have been made? Each director has his own spin, and some versions are more popular than others, but they've all made money. People keep going to them; so they must be marketable.

You should still do what you're interested in because if you're not interested in it, you won't put in the effort. However, if the product you're promoting is not selling too well, it's because there's not much of a demand for it, so it will take longer to make the money. It's possible, but more challenging and more frustrating unless you bring out a very unique selling position.

A perfect niche for anyone should be something he/she enjoys.
