Today while a routine check-up of my sites, I found that one of my site has got a .gov backlink. How to find where is it coming from? I am curious because I think this backlink will really boost my rankings. I have not purchased any packages or such stuff to get this backlink.
Honestly i do not believe on this, but to provide an evidence of screen shot that you had a .gov backlink linking to your site. Its hard to have this kind of link because these kind authority sites is very strict on this kind of linking specially on unrelated websites.
How to do that? I do remember I had signed-up for couple of medicine related forums for our clinical thesis and I might have inserted my site link there, but I dont remember which one is it now.
first of all search directly in google with gov backlink list then after you get list of the gov sites with link where you can submit your link. with contact of user of his sites.
Look for new backlinks to your website through Google Webmaster or though other SEO tools and click on the link to follow where your link is placed.
Thanks, but no dear, that doesnot help, it actually shows some kind of site, which gives ratings to other sites I tried that, but I couldnot see, that is why I thought if there is any other way to find, the real source
Thanks, yes I found it from where it is coming from and I am lucky to have found that page, now I can use it for my other sites too....
Its only a layout from a tool and not showing the domain name of the .gov site in which your website was linked to it. Kindly wanted to see the screen shot which shows the government site displaying your link within their page.
There is only one popular tool named Ahref but you need to be on paid plan to find that links, I have paid plan & looked your website but there is no .gov backlinks
haha smart girl, you want me to share you the domain so you can have a go at it Actually its showing me on the webmaster tools as well, so I guess its genuine and a proper backlink. Yes that is why I was confused where and how can I check. I was not sure it would show up so easily in the webmaster tool.
I'm not that desperate to get a link from a gov. site and get rank my site because even without .gov or .edu backlink I can still manage to rank my websites in the first page. What I'm trying to point out is that .gov site really have your link within their page but unfortunately nothing to prove.
Well I am satisfied honey, because I saw it already in the webmaster tools and its genuine, that is what i mentioned earlier. I dont have to prove it to you, anyways, I did once, when you asked at first....
Hi girl, everyone can say that its already in the webmaster tool but what you have mentioned above was a tool that only indicates a count of .gov link. A tip for you, you can screen shot the .gov website which shows your link was indicated, but not showing the URL location. Isn't a good idea to prove.
Well it comes back to the same thing, what I said before "I dont have to prove it to you" And I have asked a general question about how to find it and @karen9999 and few others have guided me where to find... EXCEPT you, who has nothing meaningful to say, other than asking proof.. so please poof poof.....
I'm wondering that you didn't even know that your site got .gov backlink and the most interesting thing here is you are surprised. Are you really the owner or just an spectator with no knowledge of what's going on within your sites. It is because there is really no .gov backlink. I'm not surprised that you didn't even know how to find it and asking for help. Kindly read your own thread carefully. Obviously its a basic thing that everyone here is already knew.
