How to find sites with a high pagerank? Is it possible?

    Hi all :)

Curious to know if it is possible to somehow search through search results to find sites with the highest pagerank? I'd like to see where their backlinks come from, etc.

So far all I can do is just search for a string and then wait for the toolbar to tell me their PR - I'm also curious if it's possible to see who has the highest PR in an industry like real estate, tech, health, etc.

    That possible?

Why would you want to? Pr is a distant second in importance after search engine rank. Unless your trying to sell links or something and need the pr rank to improve the appearance of your site.

I agree it would be nice to search through the sites with the highest PR.

And I personally still feel relevant links from higher pr sites will increase your rank dramatically and still is one of the most important criteria for increasing your search engine rank.

Ugg, one of the best places to look are the link-sharing categories here on DP. There are a few high-PR sites listed there, looking to sell and/or share links.

I like that idea. It would be cool to see why some of these pages are PR9 and 10.

You don't need to know high PR sites, but sites that are high in Google SERPs. Then put the site's link in http://backlinkwatch.com and you'll see where they get backlinks from and what is PR of backlinks. According to my knowledge only high PR backlinks (PR7 and above) helps to SERPs. If anyone thinks PR1-6 backlinks also help, please come with some proof.

Because that's what the OP wants to do.
Why does he have to justify the question?

If you don't want to answer his question don't post in the thread.

I agree with nickflame, seo quake is a great tool to have at your disposal. I have it on my browser and its very interesting.

lol That's funny, especially when i hover between No2 and No5 for "SEO Company" with a PR3 and a string of PR7 sites are lower then me.

But yes, SEO Quake is the tool you want.

Edit: Hurry up and update your blog, your title is busting the screen.
