I know it's kinda broad question, but everyone mentions that one can learn a lot from DigitalPoint and start profiting, but no one mentions how? I mean I'm an old member and I have learned much if not all I know and I do in online earnings (earning with wordpress/adsense, affiliate, SEO and stuff..) But to accomplish that I've spent 2-3 years in reading randomly throughout the forum, checking out the freebies section, and must say I have read probably 75% of useless material during the process. Now I have my own padawan, and I suggest DigitalPoint to her all the time, but she doesn't know where to begin. And that's how I remembered how I was all lost and confused the first time I started browsing DP, and the time I have spent in reading to get to where I'm at now (well not much because of my laziness, but at least I know a little of everything). So do you guys have any tips on how to find the good stuff easier?
I'm not sure if DigitalPoint is the right place to start. Wherever he/she starts in, there is a blog that gives an explanation on how to do things. He/she will learn a lot more from reading those things instead of reading posts that are sometimes worthless like you said. On the other hand, DigitalPoint is a great spot to discuss things that aren't clear. So if there would be a problem, opening up a thread would be a great way to answer possible questions.
The biggest problem is there ARE some knowledgeable people here, but as in any forum theyre vastly outnumbered by drooling idiots, people that are posting outdated stuff cause thats what they were told, and people posting whatever the hell they can type quickly to get post count cause theyre here on 10 IDs and for them time is money. A newbie would have to know which ones know their stuff in order to pay attention to the right posts and discard the fluff and misinformation. A billion flies will tell you dung is a tasty treat, and they outnumber the knowledgeable humans that'd say otherwise. As your protege has you to provide some direction... pick a few members you've noted as knowledgeable in the subject you want her to learn, and have her read the threads where they discuss the topic. That way she can ignore all the potential misdirects.
