Guys, can you please suggest good sites having content available to be used as public domain meterial (articles, images)? Is there any directory which provides links to all public domain resource sites?

Actually, the articles listed at ezinearticles.com aren't part of the public domain. Public domain means the copyright has expired. The articles listed at ezinearticles.com all have copyrights.

I mirrored Wikipedia's content on a GoDaddy account. I had to come up with my own software to handle it since MediaWiki is an unimaginable beast.

It's easily the largest collection of freely redistributable content on the internet with about 4.5 million articles.

If you're looking for categorized content then you'd just have to pick a topic and hand pick articles from Wikipedia.

You put public domain information on your own site.
    Put ads on it.
    Profit.

Better yet, you take the public domain content, you spin the content with an article spinner and THEN put ads on it. Old content is good as well, it just needs to be indexed and placed on sites.
