Can anyone suggest an online tool that will take a phrase (e.g "bread and butter") and give me an idea of how many daily searches are performed using the phrase? I've tried the DP keyword tool, but it doesn't work well for phrases.
there you go: https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal https://www.google.com
Thanks everyone. The seobook tool is the only one that gives an estimate of searches as a number (not just a comparison graph). Exactly what I was after. Thanks +REP
I also use http://www.google.com/trends . It is helpfull for comparing traffic of different keywords.
The best site is http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ - it's free to use. You need to buy the wordtracker package to find long tail search terms but this version is free
Seobook gives a more detailed ranking amongst the two and google webmster tools is good for SEO if you can use it the right way
