Those aren't backlinks, though. Those are occurrences. some of the results you find there won't be links at all, but just text.

Do not use any tools, learn manually like type in google link:sitename Ex: open google & link:deals365.us
if you want good links try this: "keyword here" site:.edu for edu links... if you want only blogs ie.. wordpress try this for example bike related blogs that are edu sites: "bikes" site:.edu "wordpress"
Just go to google and type something like "link popularity check" and go to those websites to put your domain in to see how many link back you have from big guys like google, yahoo, msn, aol, etc. Also could check the link saturation to see how many pages of your site are indexed by search engines.
