How to find nofollow/dofollow links in Pligg-based social-bookmarking websites?

How does one determine whether a link is a "nofollow link" or a "dofollow link" in Pligg-based social-bookmarking websites, such as Authorcontent and Sphinn? All hyperlinks in such social-bookmarking websites are first linked internally with a "dofollow link" and then automatically redirected to the actual external website. Is the latter link a "dofollow link"? Does anyone know of a useful tool (website or browser-plugin) that I can use to determine the link type?

I use the SearchStatus "www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/" extension for Firefox, it simply highlights the links if they are no-follow. Very good tool and easy to use.

I use both the SearchStatus and the NoDoFollow extensions for Firefox. Although helpful and easy to use tools, I don't think they solve the issue I described, or do they? Share your thoughts, please.

They are effectively , no follow links in my experience , though they may appear to be otherwise .. so its tricky, mostly would give all pligg based sites a miss, (unless modified ) if this is what you are looking for ( SEO only )

Actually Sphinn may be "do follows" its getting harder to tell , because some " rel-no follow" backlinks are showing up in Yahoo Inlinks and Google Webmasters Tools ( external links)

It seems you're one of the few "active users" on these otherwise deadly quiet social-bookmarking websites. Just a word of advice: it looks like you're doing the promotion the wrong way, since the social-bookmarking website ranks higher for the keyphrase you used than the website you're promoting. Tip of the day: Next time you reinforce inbound links to the website to be promoted, do not use the same title on the blog and do not use the same title in the social bookmark.

Anyhow, I checked the backlinks of one of the websites Andly submitted to these two Pligg-based social-bookmarking websites and it appears that links on these two Pligg-based websites are followed and show up with the URL of the homepage as the anchor text, despite the redirect.

Quite a few Pligg based SB sites use 301 permanent redirects. While the backlinks may not show up as backlinks, they do help SEO.

I'd say any good backlink helps. As long as it is relevant to your website's niche. :)

    Hello,

we set up a new pligg at tierboard.de and now we are not shure, that the links are dofollow or not. Could someone please help me check.. I just installed the tool SearchStatus and checked first mister-wong, than my sites. I think we are working with dofollow links, is that right?

    greetings from hamburg :)

You can add a link to your site/article on my Pligg site as well. Please use a unique title and description and use tags or your article will be deleted.
