I have some phrase keywords in my adgroups which I'm pretty sure I got all the negatives out, but how can I find out what other keywords are triggering my ad I ran a search query report, but it read this in the keyword column 1 other unique queries it don't show the other keyword, how can I figure that out?
I bet that you & I are alike in that I spent tons of money in irrelevant traffic to my site. To find negative keywords, I go to Google Analytics and select: Traffic Sources > Keywords > then select 'paid' Then sort by keywords generating a 100% bounce rate. This gives me negative keywords as well as none-performing keywords that are driving people to my site. For me, it's also important to know that my cost are NOT unnecessarily high because I'm sharing the same ad space as a national retailer. To find this out, I use free or semi-free services such as AdGooroo, iSpionage or SpyFu.
There are a few ways to look at this. If you've got one 'unknown' keyword, then it's not costing you very much. So you can either 1) Ignore it 2) Convert all of the other keywords into exact match or negative match, and stop using phrase match. If you try option 1, you can always run the query again next week with more data - once it gets 2 or 3 clicks, it should get its own line in the report. Option 2 has the advantage of getting rid of all the keywords with impressions, but no clicks. But you should wait until you're reasonably sure that your search query report is fairly complete...
