For many people Keyword Planner is a mystery. It's not all that difficult using this tool.

Welcome to the Keyword Planner and today I am going to show you a way by which you can find out what Google thinks that your site should rank for.

In the keyword planner look for the option that says “ Search for Keyword and ad group ideas”

In the next page that opens up, enter your site url, or any site url whose keywords you want to check.

In the next page that opens up click on “Get keyword ideas”.

Click on “average monthly searches” to toggle between the terms that bring the most traffic and the least traffic.

    Here comes the fun part!

What google thinks makes sense.png If you see the source code of the website and search for the term “paleo diet” you will not get it.
If you are in Chrome just right click and select view page source

While there’s a section for raspberry ketone there’s no mention of healthy recipes on the site.

Why is this type of keyword research important?
As you might have seen with this kind of keyword research, we get keywords that are not even present on the site.

This kind of intelligent keyword data is currently not available with any other paid, professional tool that would cost you thousands.

It is important because Google already thinks that your site is relevant for these terms and if you but optimize the site for these keywords you will start ranking for them easily.

You could also use these keywords as anchor texts in your guest blogging campaigns or build a few squidoo lenses surrounding these keywords and link to your site.

Better yet would be to find forums and QA sites and look for questions about these. They are high volume and you will find something.

One more thing you could do is use some Wordpress plugin like SEOPressor to optimize your posts for these keywords that Google thinks you should rank for.
