    Hi everyone,

I wonder what a good and free way is to spot keyword niches to build affiliate websites.

The tool "Adwords Analyzer" does that but it is kinda expensive. I wonder if there is a free way to find keyword niches.

    Thanks,

    Phil.

    Hi,

I am new at this too but have used the technique before in order to find good keyword domains.

    1.
Your first step is to find a product or service that is in demand.
NEVER try to fit a product you love into some seo or any marketing strategy.

If you already have a product make sure there is high demand for it!

If you do not agree with steps 1 to 3 stop now and find something else to do with your time. While I am new to online marketing I come from an off line marketing background with years of experience and the same rules apply: There has to be a BIG enough market for you to compete in AND there has to be a DEMAND for your product and/or service.

    5.

Once you find such a product you can use the free wordtracker edition.

Your main search term for your market has to have big search results. let's try consolidate debt loans e.g.

the brings about 14,000 searches a day but the results in google are 250,000. That means for that term you will be competing against 250,000 pages. ouch!

So you will need to drill down that term until you find respectable searches and not so many competitors.

What those numbers are I am still trying to figure out.

I tried 2 sets of keywords this week and for 1 I am on page 1 with 600 competing and with the other I am on page 2 with about 25,000 competing.
Each shows between 150 and 200 daily searches according to wordtracker.

    6.

    The tools are: http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/

    https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

The thing about adwords tool is that it doesn't show you numbers and it is geared towards advertisers. I found keywords with it with 0 competitors but when I did a search for it there were tons of competitors.

Another one is overture but it is so slow it is painful.

Like I said I am still figuring out which keyword search amounts are beneficial and I am pretty sure it differs from one product to the next.

It is highly profitable to be an average player in a highly profitable niche, rather than a top player in a low profit niche.
