    I've tried many of the sites already recommended.

    Now I prefer to collect my own data for the particular search engine I'm interested in. I do this by setting up "exact match" search ads and bidding them to page 1 with an unlimited daily budget for at least a couple weeks. For low popularity keywords my ads will display for almost every search on the keyword. For more popular keywords, with lots of people bidding for ad placement, my ads won't display every time. However, I know that the number of searches must be greater than or equal to the number of ad impressions. Therefore looking at the number of ad impressions gives a good relative comparison of keyword popularity.

    My results using this method often show more searches than predicted by the services already mentioned. I think this method is the most reliable way to do a relative comparison of keyword popularity.

    You should be more interested in how many results you get for a preffered keyword. It's much more realistic.

    It accesses wordtrackers free db, plus allows you to get details of how much competition there is. You can export data to CSV, etc.

    It's freeware and not mine, so I don't support it. Hope it helps...
