long tail search domain keywords become increasingly less important for SEO through the years, while short and relevant keyword combination are still valued for their development potential.
Use "would I want to visit the site with this name" creteria to evaluate the keyword quality instead of just number of searches

Smart ideas and common sense is the best way to have good keywords than just copying.

Could anyone let me know that is it worth purchasing exact keyword domains or Google is discouraging such domains.

For purely flipping purposes, I'd still go with Exact Match Domains. If you were a florist in new york, wouldn't you put in an offer to buy newyorkflorist.com if it was offered to you?

I've also had some success looking at what people are bidding high on at Godaddy auctions, then (assuming it's not a trademark) try to get the .org or .net for example. Someone who has just spent a few thousand on a .com may just want to complete the suite for a couple of hundred dollars...

It is true they did take a hit after Panda and Penguin but they still work and all things being equal will outrank any other domain. I have several EMDs that are doing just fine. You just can't get away with no backlinks and 1 page of writing any more - Just a 'little' bit more work.

That makes no sense. Most domain names consist of words. And all words are keywords for something. So what domain name isn't "keywordy"? If the words seem unnatural the way they are combined, then PEOPLE may not like the domain. And Google may see that PEOPLE are avoiding it. This would probably be the case with something like CarsUsedWashingtonDC.net. Sure, people might search for "cars used washington dc" in that order; but they wouldn't take a website seriously if it presented itself with such an awkward word order. Maybe that's what you mean by "keywordy". But UsedCars.com is definitely "keywordy" in the sense that "used cars" is a great keyword. And search engines would love an optimized website built on UsedCars.com. Why? Because PEOPLE would search for it, find it, click on it, and use it.

Use Google Insight to compare keywords search in global or specific country and allow you to see the trend of keywords in the past few years.
Use Google Trend to check out what the latest trend in Google Search .
Use Google Keywords Tools to check other optional similar keywords and search for the long tail keywords and medium search amount usually is a niche target.
