a free way to find .edu websites is to go here: http://urloz.com/search.php?type=1&what=.edu Maybe you will be lucky and have your site listed on a few of them! From what i've seen most of them have very high google pagerank!
search in them and if you have a website related to some of the information you can find there just write them and ask to include your website also as a reference site!

Become an active member in their forum and put your link in your signature (if enabled) AND/OR register a user account and add the url to your profile page.
In theory this is great. In reality I compile .EDU and .GOV lists and I can tell you that it will take you all day to get a small handful. Finding ones that even allow links is rare, those without moderation/auto approved even more so.
Here you go... here's a .edu link for ya: http://www.botany.hawaii.edu/gradstud/kuo/default/archives/000225.html Good luck getting it indexed if google ever gets to the bottom of the page without timing LOL! Problem with most .edu links is they're spammed to f*** - I built a program to find these links... what a waste of time that was. This wasn't the first page like this I came across in my travels. I wonder what weight google will give to your link if it manages to crawl to the bottom of the page?
for the ones they say it's hard to find a good .edu link is just want to say there are almost 1000 edu websites! i'm sure that 1% from them which is at least 10 will include your website on their resources list if is something interesting about it and have educational value!
