If your website is linked to Google Webmaster Tools, go under Links To Your Site, and there you can see all your backlinks. You can also make Google ignore backlinks with the disavow tool.

If you don't know what you are looking for then I would suggest using a link removal service to look at your links.

Most people don't know what to look for when searching for bad links & typically underestimate what a good and bad link is.

Like I said, using the Google Disavow Tool, however you must read very carefully before using this tool.

TRY these tools to check your backlink profile
    1) Moz.com OSE ( open site explorer)
    2) majestic seo
    3) ahrefs
    4) links to your site from google webmaster tools.
    last but not the least

    5) cognitive seo ( mark my words very very effective tool to check spammy links of your site by category)

You need to ask the webmasters to remove the link or you use a service like linkdelete.com
They also have a free checker on their website to see how many bad links your website has, very helpful for me to analyze my sites quickly.

To remove links you need to contact the website and ask them to remove it, or you need to hire a company to do that for you. Up to you!

The disavow tool does not work for removing bad links.
Removing the link works, just a disavow by itself will never work.
