I have some campaigns on adwards. One day I found out that there are suddently some unusual clicks on just one keyword, say about 100 clicks more than before. This situation have lasted for many days until i paused it. I didn't use "content search", and not bid on any protected trademark keywords. Does anybody have same experience and willing to share it. Any PPC experts know how to detect the fraud clicks?:(

Do you have any evil competitors or did you offend someone in a forum? Since you're not using content search only Google would benefit from any clicks.

Was it a topic that got into the new in that timeframe?

I don't think I offened anyone in the forum because i'm new and nice;)
Not sure who will be the "evil conpetitors", if there are, all affiliates will be the potential ones...

Is it possible that the advertiser tried to beat affiliates' bids by clicking on our ads? I have been watching those non- stopped clicks growing without any sales conversion for quite a long time. Try to ask google...but i'm not sure if that helps.

Have to take away that keyword (trust me, I read their affiliate terms very carefully, it is neither their trademark nor protected keywords) from my ad group.:( before i figure out what happened.

Any more help will be highly appreciated.

I bought and set up whosclickingwho.com and found it to be useless.

When WCW detects "fraud" and you sent that information to the PPC provider they have a good laugh and write back telling you that they did not count those clicks. They only counted the other clicks. Please pay us!

Click fraud pros cant be caught. I dont think a pro person has hit your site because you would see much more then 100 clicks.

You can use a company to detect click fraud but all it does is email you info on people that have clicked more then once in 24 hours on your site.

I agree that click fraudsters can't be caught. If you pick it up, then the PPC provider would probably too with their own fraud detection mechanisms.

Best bet is to be careful of the content sites (you can choose search only on Adsense), limit your daily budget, and vary your Max CPC, espcially when you are bidding high.

    Good luck, though..

Thanks a lot, guys. These days I'm crazy in trying to find some kinds of "detective softwares"...thank you for sharing your experiences. It's always good to ask advices before you try to dump more bucks into new stuff...:)

I think you will be very frustrated with click fraud software. You will most likely find out it is someone on the same ip but it could be legitimate that a person has just clicked your ad more then once. Many people still dont understand how google ads work and think they are links.

In which case good job on write a good adwords description.
