As the key to a good site is to add new original content frequently, the best niche for you is one that you're interested in and know something about. If I were to tell you that a top niche is in DNA Bioinformatics, what good would that do you? unless you're already halfway through your phd in genetic engineering.

Want a good Niche? Head over to the Buy and Sell forum and look at the site being sold. The ones with loads of people and getting sold for lots, thats what you need to do if you cant think of anything else :)

i just love these threads :)

honestly if your serious about finding a " good niche" don't waste your time on dp with really dumb questions. thats the first step forward.... if you don't have an idea, Read alot of blogs/ information sites then if you see anything interesting Research keywords for it, thats probably the best way to find a good niche.

For me, a "good niche" is one that's not only low in competition and getting search traffic, but also tends to be stable. In other words, I try to avoid hot search trends that may flame out fast. I try to stay with niches that I'll be able to count on for sustained revenue over a long period.

So for me, Wikicharts is a tool that allows you to see what the top searched for items on Wikipedia are month by month over the past year. That's a great way to find niches that people are actively seeking information in, and then identify if there's room for you and revenue to be made in the niche or not.
