Hello everybody, Thought I’d share some info and free tools I use for finding good profitable niches. All these tools are free and none of the url’s are affiliate links. What’s a niche? A ‘niche’, is simply the area in which you intend to make money online i.e. your subject matter. You may already know your niche, but if you don’t, and you’re wondering where to start, I recommend sticking to the three big niches. E.g.: Health –diet, weight loss, vitamin supplements, medical issues, quit smoking … Wealth - working from home, forex, business opportunities, mortgages, debt relief… Lifestyle – mind, body and spirit, self-improvement, pets, DIY, dating…. What Makes a great Niche? You don’t’ have to find a micro niche (the next big thing). You can make lots of money from these big three ‘evergreen’ niches, and if you haven’t yet got a product or chosen someone else’s to promote, then you’re in a great position. A Great Niche has: Lots of Competition (Find the Fish, and then pick the bait) – Lots of competition = lots of interested buyers. All you have to do, to tap into these eager buyers within you niche, is out-market the competition. And you can take heart that the majority of Internet marketers do not market properly. Once you’ve found your niche you can pick an appropriate product and follow through with a proven marketing campaign. Passion and Pain - If you can find a niche that naturally engages people’s emotions, then it can be extremely profitable. For example you could provide people with low esteem, a confidence building solution or a pick a sports niche, where people are passionate about the team they follow. A Magazine or Association – A good strong niche will have a magazine or association already servicing it. E.g.: Life-style: “Carpworld†– (Carp Fishing), Health and Fitness “ Cooking Light’ (Healthy recipes). In fact if you can find more than one magazine servicing the same niche, then you know that this has major interest. Tools To Find a Killer Niche These are the various methods and tools I use to find and qualify niches. Barnes & Noble – Walk into any bookstore or library and head to the magazine section. In 5 minutes you will have a wealth of ideas for strong dependable niches. Online Magazine Sites www.magazines.com www.magazineboard.com You have the added luxury of searching from your armchair. Amazon/Kindle – Go to Amazon, and find the Kindle store. This will give you a list of books & magazines in sub-categories. Ideal for niche research. Audible.co.uk – (Downloadable audio books site). Again another great source for categories and niches Clickbank.com and Cbengine.com – These are places where affiliates go to find products to market and is a great place to find which products in which niches are making money. Google’s Free Keyword Tool – To find this just Google “keyword tool’ and funnily enough it comes up as the first result. This is a great piece of kit. Find keywords for the niche that you are interested in and get the Global monthly search results for these keywords. This will give you real tangible figures for a niche’s popularity. Google’s Wonder Wheel - Again Google this, click on ‘Show Options’ and select Wonder Wheel. The Google search field then becomes linked to Wonder Wheel. If you put in a search term, lets say “health and fitness†it will come up with sub categories related to that search term. These appear in a smaller wheel, where you can drill down further to find a variety of sub niches. A great way to find niches you maybe wouldn’t have thought of. EBay Pulse – Here EBay gives you in their own words “a daily snapshot of current trends, hot picks and cool stuff on eBay†This is golden information as to what people want and what is popular. Google Trends – Again another hot source for looking at what people are searching for right Now - www.google.com/trends SPY FU - http://www.spyfu.com/ - This site is a bit of a secret, and it’s great for qualifying a niche. Essentially, it allows you to spy on your competition and see how much they are paying for a paid campaign. Enter a keyword and it will tell you who your competitors (advertisers) are for a keyword or niche, along with a variety of other stats that will show you how profitable a particular niche/keyword is. Hope you can get some good ideas from these, feel free to add any other sources would love to hear about them Cheers Steve
