I hope this is the right place to post this...I am looking to develop a few sites, and am curious of how to go about finding a good niche to latch on to. Any suggestions, tools, etc? Any help would be appreciated!

Look at clickbank products, if someone is making tons of books on the subject then it must be good, right.

Then research keywords to find some with less sites listed in search results.

You have to like writing about your niche or you will simply burn out after a couple months. A lot of people try going for niches that pay the most money for affiliates and adsense, but simply get bored with the topic.

If you can not see yourself sticking to your site for at least 6 solid months of writing good content then you are wasting your time and efforts.

i would first try working with something that you enjoy. It is much easier to work on something if you have a passion for it. Once you find something you enjoy then begin thinking of ways that you can monetize it. Good Luck!

Do a bit of research on the number of searches and the competition that you will have to face if you want to rank well for the keyword.

If this is your first site , choose a niche which you know and understand well. Money is secondary, atleast for the first few months.

good niche can start from checking out yourself what you kow/interested the most. then develop to what is the best thing in your local area or state. then go to what people are interested or what to know more about.

A good niche by me would entirely depend on what your targetted source of Revenue is, for example would you want to make money from Google Adsense, Kontera, etc. or sell a service or product, or simply become a reseller of a product. Once you figure that out, you'll get the answers yourself. BTW What are you planning on doing?

Research what people need, then monetize it. It's better to do it that way than to look for something you're interested in.

Well, I considered ClickBank but am still unsure of whether to go that route yet. My main revenue earner will most likely be adsense, unless I end up in some other affiliate program. I enjoy making gaming sites so that has sort of been my niche. After my next big site goes online I am looking for something new to dabble in. I may just stick with the good ole gamers market, but try to expand away from adsense revenue and maybe try to market products. I am looking to start making big bucks as a webmaster, and am just trying to figure out the best route to take.
