How to find a font that looks like this? im new to fonts

I drew this out in autocad but i am trying to make it in illustrator. A friend recommended i find a similar font, load it into illustrator, and manipulate it in order to have the functionality of illustrator to do any further changes or variations of it.

I am searching free font sites but a lot of them load about 10 per page and is very time consuming... does this font resemble a specific style? or other font? (i have no clue what is what in fonts)

 

I'm not entirely sure how to create fonts... But you can always go to dafont.com and look for the right font.

If you want to clean it up and do it yourself, you can always use your pen tool in illustrator to vector it and make it look clean.

If you are not able to find the proper/matching font why don't you just trace it out in illustrator and then manipulate your design,that way you will be keeping your own design at the same time changing certain objects in your design according to your need
