Let's say there's a link to domain A and domain A is 301-ed to domain B. Does this link have a chance to show up in link: operator for domain B?
From some of the instances I have seen while experimenting, I'd say that if a page (or domain) A is 301-ed to another page (or domain) B, then incoming links for A will show up when using the "link:" operator on page (or domain) B and incoming links for B will also show up when using the "link:" operator on page (or domain) A. (Speaking about Google) You should also note that the "link:" operator does not show all incoming links in Google (Usually less than 1/50 of recorded incoming links will be shown.) So, I'd say yes. Waiting for other opinions!
I'm not sure about other search engines but from a google stand point you will need to wait for the 301 to take full effect (next backlink update) in order to see the results.
this is an interesting question....I think that after a time they would show as a link to the new domain.....I have no evidence to support this
