When I tell them that I'm calling to ensure that their information and payment transactions are safe and secure as we are an online business and there's a lot of fraud, everyone has been grateful. Now, I don't waste their time -- it takes all of 30 seconds to verify and then I thank them and wish them success. Your market may vary.

Is it applies when customers sign up for your services, through your very own websites payment gateway and login to pay by themself? Can even this kind of services charged back?
Even if i clearly stated in the T&C no chargebacks are allowed and non refundable fee is payable?

I am using an business acc btw

Yes, jaya -- you don't get to decide if chargebacks are allowed; the credit card companies do.

I think they used to. I wanted to create an account several years ago and they required to prevent spammers.

I am going to set my store to where the customer must validate their registrations via email before they can download my products. Then if the paypal account is unconfirmed then I won't allow for immediate download until I confirm it myself either by email or phone call depending on the price of the product of course.

This should prevent people from using stolen cc.

    Correct.

A confirmed account doesn't mean it's an unhacked account.

One solution is to use a payment processor which does not have a chargeback policy, e.g. moneybookers. Once a payment is made, its made forever, not reversible.

not like the way you know. it's what they say.

they do not support directly charge back like PP, but if the credit card company ask for chargeback MB will have to return the fund.

you will know soon, when you meet.

For secured account, MB will suffer that chargeback for you, but they charge 8%

Paypal are difficult to make sense to on the best of days. I recently had a customer email me and submit a dispute on the same day (mind you, it was 45 days after she purchased ) saying that she didn't receive the item. Upon checking my digital delivery system she hadn't downloaded here product.

Now considering she should have been redirected to the downlaod page after payment and my system sends a download link email (via IPN) there shouldn't have been a problem. After her email I attached the product to a return email and asked her to reply if she got it which she did. But then she didn't cancel the dispute and even though I rang Paypal and sent them a copy of her return email (with header info proving it came from her) saying she got the product they ended up refunding because I "didn't supply adequate delivery information".

It seems their system is more and more leaning away from digital products.

Does anyone know if 2checkout has any tracking in place to show if a purchaser has been directed to a download page after purchase?

Well, hell, I've just been scammed out of 275.00 on a website/domain that I purchased here on DP. You can check my feedback for the maggot that did it. Filed a dispute with Paypal, but, as we all know, Paypal doesn't refund on virtual products.

Thus all of us who sell/buy virtual products do so at great risk when using Paypal to process payments. Based on my experience, it's much easier to defraud someone of their money when they buy a digital product because Paypal doesn't investigate complaints/disputes for nondelivery. It's almost like Paypal licenses criminal behavior.

That said, I'm pretty damn happy that I was able to file a chargeback. I'm awaiting the results, but I'm pretty sure it will meet with success.
