How to exclude some data from Google Analytics?

    Hi,
I have a website with Google Analytics set up.
The geographical source is very interesting to track but let's say i am not interested in looking at the source from France because I know my site is not in French. Is there a way I can say to ignore this country from the results?
    Thanks

I think you can not configure GA to not track the data from France, it will track everything. But you can configure your views. Let me know which version you use, the new one? or still the old one?

What's the harm if you see it? the more is better. Hiding data in GA doesn't mean the site is not being opened in France. If you want to target any specific country, it can be done through "Target country".

This is superb that your website is getting visited globally.. There is no harm in this. Also, you can not just avoid the country wise visitors from Google Analytics whereas you can export your data for a particular country.

Right i do not mind people looking at the website from anywhere but let say i am planning to sell to Japan and France looks too much at the website. The data from Japan are buried in some traffic i do not care about France... In fact I am not targeting one country but all except France so i cannot pick up only one country in the results...

Ok, I guess you are using the new version. After login to GA, click 'Demographics > Location' under 'Audience' at left side panel. You can see the world map will appear with a list of countries and number of visitors of you site. Now look for the 'Advance' search link between the map and country list. After clicking the 'Advance' a new section will appear there. Look for 'Include' drop-down, change it to 'Exclude' and type France there. Click on 'Apply' just bellow this section. Now, you can see the data without France. If you want to see the same thing as graph, just change the tab from 'Map Overlay' to 'Explorer' at the top left.

You can also configure the 'Custom Reporting' tab at the very top to see the same data at one click.

Let me know if this helps.
    Thanks.

I think, you should filter the data what you want instead of blocking it. I wish the client will get expand business in countries where they are not today, at that moment you need those data. One more secret thing I would like to tell you that, you can collect those data and if you are getting considerable traffic from other countries then you can suggest your client to expand the business and you will get one more domain/subdomain/subdirectory to work on. Of-source they will pay extra for that, after all they are getting more business. :)
