I thought this may be an interesting thread where some of the EXPERTS here on this group can help people like myself who are just starting out,

How do you evaluate the real value of 1 link vs another???? Is there some kind of a form with questions like,

    1.Site relevance
2.how many outbound links on the page
    3.Page Rank of the page
4.Domain age of the linking site
And after u answer all these questions it gives the link some rank value.

Wow - looks like I been getting ripped by Adbrite and Adster. Ta heck with them -- I'll offer a text link ad for $10 on PR4 page on a real honest to goodness content rich website (not a directory) for $10 for 2 months and that calculator says it's worth $17 a month... PM me if you are interested. :)

I look at the PR and then use pagerankpredict.com to see the # of backlinks and the potential pagerank in the future

    Oh, thanks.
Means that this is for one link only and I can't sell 10 links from homepage for this money?

That link calculator is just a fun gimmick. It pays to know your industry and what advertising is going for in that industry AND what advertisers are valuing in a site.

As to value of links, I'd look at:

    1. Is the site just a feed center or is there content and potential here? If no, value at lowest point or forget.

    2. Is the site related? If no, forget.

    3. Where will my links be placed and how many links are in the area?

    4. What type of backlinks (quality/ownership/numbers) does the page that my link will go on have and how confident am I in that scenario improving?

    5. How high will my link be in the source code?

    6. What's the PR of the site, how is it getting the PR, what's my estimate passage cut of that PR and where' the site going?

The more a link costs, the more I look at each item. If a link is $2 a month, I'm just going to look at site relation and some quick scans mostly.
