Excellent tool. Since I joined this forum, I always use this. Saves time to go through both Wordtrack and overture.
Google doesn't disclose the info, so the closest you will get is the tools in AdWords for traffic estimation.
How do you translate these number to "the real world"? ie: Say a keyword scores 3.000/day on Overture. If you were on top of the three big engines (Google/Yahoo/MSN) for this keyword. Approx how much daily traffic would this generate? I know this is impossible to answer exactly, but do anyone have an idea? x2, x10, x100?
let say i look for "work at home jobs". In overture indicate 1492 visitor/day. When i search at Yahoo the total result of website with this keyword is 155 million. So is in my point of view this is not a good keyword to choose for my new website because you need to compete with 155million site which already establish in yahoo datebase. This is my logical answer. But i wanted to know from the DP members here. So what is the rules of thumb of choosing a less competitive keyword but having a good daily traffic in overture/adword?
Shawn - Some colleagues and I were discussing the DP Keyword Suggestion tool today, and wondering if there was some way to show the 'Predict' value instead of the 'Count' value, since the DP tool says /day, when in reality the Count value that is given is just the number of times the phrase is in the WordTracker database. Used to be that the Count and the Predict were pretty close, but it appears as the number of daily searches is increasing, the engines that are providing WT with it's database must be losing market share, as the gap between predict and count seems to be increasing. Anyway, not a huge deal, just a thought/suggestion. Toonces51
