I think this sandbox theory is a myth. I've never had any trouble with new sites. I think as long as you're building backlinks your ranking should gradually increase.
You know what? http://urlhartanto.com was PR3 with hundreds of page indexed in Google. But since early in 2009 till now, if you type info:urlhartanto.com or site:urlhartanto.com no result will found. I made extreme change with...... delete all database and creat new wp. No results..... What I can get? sandbox goes on....... What the f**
wait and build up site credibility. So many rumors regarding the sandbox that you really can't tell how to get out. if anything, in the long run, you're better off building a quality site so that when you are out, you'll be better ranked.
To escape the Sandbox, a new site needs to have trusted authority links and a critical mass of trustworthy, unique, and original content. Enhancing useability and spider friendliness helps too. Avoid using Black or Grey hat methods.
Slowly build backlinks Right keyword density Post must be 600+ words avoid posting short articles Be original and never copy other people's article I think this steps will be helpful.
The Google Sandbox is a filter on the search engine's algorithm that has a dampening influence on websites. It is a common notion in the industry that the Google Sandbox effect decreases after a certain period of time due to website aging. However this is far from true. Actually, the effects reduce over time not on the basis of website aging, but on link aging. To escape the ‘Sandbox’ a new Web site needs trusted authority links, amplified and distributed by clever internal linkage, and a critical mass of trustworthy, unique, and original content. Enhancing useability and crawler friendliness helps too. IOW, back to the roots.
Link aging has nothing to do with the Sandbox. If you create links in bad neighborhoods - meaning websites that are either associated with spam or have been blacklisted by Google there will be a penalty no matter how old your domain or how old is the link.
Then how hard would it be for your competitor to submit your site's links to a whole bunch of "bad neighbourhood" sites? You'd see this kind of sabotage left and right and you don't.
It all depends if your competitor is using Whitehat or Blackhat methods to promote their website. If its blackhat - then he probably already appears in the bad neighborhoods since he is not in it for the long run... if its whitehat, he can file a dispute to Google and not only ban you (the one who tried to Sandbox him) but will receive a clean slate history with Google services and added authority - if he really wants to, he can spin the story further and appear on various news site with his story for free. There really is no such thing as bad publicity... oh, and he invested 0$ into this... so good luck!
