Hi i asked at dreamhost forum but theres no response yet. I need to fix this asap so heres my problem..

Hi i recently bought a auto media script and tried to install it.. But i cant install it coz the fopen is disabled and it needed to run the script. I read some discussion about fopen at dreamhost wiki and they have the alternative for it which is curl but i dont know how to use it. Ive talked to the script developer and he said this "Tell your server administrators to trigger fopen to put in Curl touches me to make any new programming just tell them that you activate and operate"

Please help me coz i really wanted to install the script asap..

    thanks and regards,
    Kojak

I don't think DH allows that on their servers. They have it set so that you can not enable it.

Welcome to the world of DH.

As Colbyt said, you cant install curl from your account, if they have running a php with the curl libraries not installed you cant do nothing more than wait for the dh reply.

    Good luck

AFAIK, Dreamhost supports curl, the TS is complaining because fopen for remote files is disabled.

To TS: Just rewrite the script to use curl, it's not that complicated, it's pretty straightforward task...

I've been a DreamHost guy for years now and I can assure you there's no chance of ever getting fopen support from them. Ever. You'll have to find someone to re-write the code to use curl.
