how to edit the vbulletin version number ??

    well, i was trying to make my forum more secure, so i got that idea to change the forum version to fake version, like for example if i have 3.8.1 version i will edit it to 3.7.x. so anybody think to attack my site will use wrong old exploits for wrong version :)
    so please how can i edit the version number ?, thanks

    Even better, just remove the version number.

    i know how to do that, i already done that, but that what not iam looking for because when i remove the version number the attacker will knows i did that for security, so if he want to take my site down, he will try the exploits for the last 5 or 10 versions... otherwise when i change the version to older version, the attacker will try only the exploits for the version number, so he will use wrong exploits and he will give up :)

    so now please how can i edit the version number ?

    Better yet, keep your software up to date and then you don't need to worry about it. :)
