How to edit text in a .PSD file.. I currently use GIMP but you seem to not be able to edit text from a .PSD file.. Is there any other programs / software which can do this?

Without having to use photoshop ? I dont want to buy it because I can do most of my graphic design in gimp.. so any ideas?

    thanks

I know that you can delete text and then just add it back using gimp.. But sometimes the text is using styling which would get lost when you delete the original text?

Yeah. Photoshop effects would be lost. That link I posted is actually pretty crap now that I've read it thoroughly.

Have you considered getting something like Photoshop Elements? I'm pretty sure it can handle most PSD text/effects. It's included for free with lots of cameras, tablets, etc... and a lot of people just leave the CD in the box and never look at it. If you ask around you might be able to get a friend/relative to give you their CD (+legit licence).
