How To Edit Invision Power Board Skin Images

I am using the Invision Power Board software, I think 2.2.3? I know its 2.x, so the format should be similar. Anyways, I am trying to make my own skin and everything seems to be pretty easy, but when I wanted to replace some of the buttons such as "reply, new topic", etc... there isn't an easy way to do that.

I tried to download the images.xml file, and it had all of the images in there, but a <content> tag was there, and inside of it was just a lot of random characters. I am not sure if there is an easier way to editing images in IPB than to just edit your own .xml file, but if you do need to edit the .xml file, what needs to go into the content area?!

I searched Google and the forums here for a topic like this, but I couldn't find one, so I apologize if this is a duplicate topic. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

That seems pretty simple to me if I understand your question.
Find exact location of the image you want to change. If you dont know where its located then open your site in your browser then left click and copy the image location and throw it into notepad or something and thats where its located. example http://yoursitename/forums/somerandomtemplate/images/replybutton.gif

then make your own button and upload there to replace it.

I think thats what you were asking anyway.
    Hope that helps.
