if i have a directory with several files with no index.html in it, and i wished to disable the sort by name, size, type, description and such

as well as edit the images that appear to the left of each of hte files, say one is a jpeg i want to have a jpeg specific image next to it, maybe a flashing image that says jpeg

as well as to remove the last modified info from view of each file..

these are possibly easy to do but i'm really unsure where to go to edit these or what file i'm looking for on my apache server.

i'm new to apache so hopefully this request doesn't sound really odd..

Please if anyone happens to know please let me know. Thank you in advance!

    I assume you're using 2.0

A good place to start would be in the apache docs, they have examples of just about everything you asked :)
