Many people end up earning very little from Adsense .. This is mainly because : The site is not optimized for SEO .. People are not knowing their sites for the keywords they have optimized .. More visitors = More clicks 1) The site has only one theme , the keyword related to the site is a very low cost keyword Adsense keyword can give u as little as $ 0.10 per click while some can end up giving you $50 .. Proper Placement of Ads , Putting ads in places where prople are less likely to click at them will not help . Put the ads in the middle .. So it all depends on your site content / the related ads from Adsense .. If you make more sites , you will definitely earn more ..
The main reason why people make very little from Adsense is because they don't have the traffic. It's all about traffic and much less so about your CTR and $/click.
I agree. In fact, people alert they are not making much from AS when they note they have consistent traffic but low earnings, when we speak about low CTR and/or low CPC.
Exactly. If there is traffic, there will be clicks. So to get traffic you have to givre quality content so that the visitors will be back again and again.
Yup traffic is the king and content is the queen on the internet. Without traffic you can't earn anything.
I disagree. Placement is essential in this. If your placement is not good, you can be earning 100% less. So first, optimize placements, and then, earn visits.
I must concur with Davilac. Good placement using the heatmap can double revenue. It is much more difficult to double revenue by increasing traffic. I put some good AdSense tips in the article How to Make More Money with Google AdSense.
Yes placement is a key factor also, but like everyone else said you have to have traffic too. They go hand and hand with each other. But you have to have the traffic for first I think.
Right placement of google ads(its better to be in the left bar of your site),rich and unique content might get you good adsense income.
Traffic, CTR and CPC are all equally important, remember the formula is: Impressions * CTR * CPC = Revenue Having a zero in any of these variables gets you zero revenue. Doubling any of these doubles your revenue. You need all three.
You can only tweak CTR and CPC only to a certain extent before things level out. For example, if you took all the knowledge and experience on this board about CTR and ad placement and applied it on a website, the effect would be capped at some point. Your CTR would level off, then you're stuck. But if you forgot about CTR and CPC and put all your energy in driving traffic to your site (making your site useful and worth linking to), then the money starts rolling in. There is no cap on traffic, but there is a cap on CTR/CPC. To be honest, when I started with Adsense a few years ago, I was all about CTR/CPC. On my very first website ever, all I did was tweak ad placement and publish articles about 'high CPC' topics. I neglected making my site a quality resource on the niche (video game related) that people would want to visit, link to, and talk about. It took a few months, and a few sites later for me to figure out that the bulk of my time should solely be spent on traffic/content (90% of my time). Once the traffic is there, I can spend a few minutes on placement and test different things. It's easy to grow traffic at 10%-30% CONSISTENTLY. The same is not true for CTR and CPC.
Your ads need to be targeted to the content of the page You need to have a lot of traffic. Good blending of the ads with the site design. More than one site. And read Digital Point froums every day.
Traffic is key and then placement. Getting good traffic from scratch is very difficult for most average people. Getting incoming links is a big farce. Reality check: NO ONE IS GONNA LINK TO TO YOUR STUPID WEBSITE UNLESS YOU LINK BACK OR PAY BIG $$$$$$$$! THIS ISN'T 1998! Unless you can convicne some stupid dupe with a high PR to link to you from the 'goodness of his heart' , consider yourself out of luck. Google has sandboxes and such and yahoo doesnt index well. MSN is your best bet since thats where I get all my traffic from. Msn is kinda like a throwback to the 90s when it was easy to rank well since they use old algos. Too bad msn doesnt get much traffic. Yes it is frustrating.
