How to earn $40 an hour with PHP / MySQL contract

    Where should I look for some contract job in US that can pay me $30 per hour or more. I have expertise in PHP MySQL , javascript and some C#

    The only way that I have ever seen people making that kind of money if if you were employed with a rather big company and is on salary.

    Last time I checked Facebook only pays its programmers $29.50 per hour to start.

    you can charge your clients whatever you want as long as you're good enough. and those who are not ready to pay, you can send to india - they will get what they deserve for their lousy $3/hour.

    If that is normal in the US I would move... I have never been paid less than $70/hour even when I started looking for freelance work. I wouldn't work for less than $30/hour except if for an experiment. But people on DP have, on average, a different view of the market. I did a Java job in Seattle 3 months ago for $200/hour. It just depends how you sell yourself and where you look for jobs. Don't look here I guess.

    post on a freelance site and you may get lucky with a good portfolio and some good sales copy!

    i wouldn't expect it though!

    I doubt you can earn that much from the field as now at the recession period.
