There are many, many sites "similar to YouTube" and the people that set them up are puzzled why they're not making millions and they are posting in forums asking how to make a million. The true answer is to be making the site that everyone copies next year.

I thought YouTube was making a loss anyway, before they sold it? Obviously the owners made a killing from selling it. But if they couldn't make money out of that site without selling it, considering the traffic it gets, then I don't see how anyone else would have a chance with a copycat site.
