So there's got to be some happy medium between backordering a domain name for $40 plus dollars and trying to grab it by hand. How would an individual go about building an automated drop catching system? Possible?
That's a really god question. I would like to know the same thing. What would be the difference of catching the domain manually as opposed to using a backordering service?
assuming the name actually drops IMO it is all most impossible to be the drop catchers like pool and snap. You could some automated software but I haven't found that too productive. If its a good name it will get attention and people will put a snap on it which means you then have to beat snap and other domainers who are after it, almost impossible. If you think the name will fly under the radar then you might be able to hand reg it once it drops, but you need to know the exact time when the various exts drop their names. Look at the deadline for orders at snap and that will give you a clue. most people don't like sharing drop info, there are a few posts around as well on drop catching. IMO if its a good name its worth $60. just my 2 cents. tee1
